From a young age, Katie found joy (or discovered dislike) for a wide variety of youth sports, and found much joy in moving her body. But by age 14, she had fallen prey to the societal and sport-specific standards that tell us that health, beauty, and fulfillment looks one way: thin (or “fit”). For most of her teenage years, she paved her path to define what health is to her, learned how to respect her mind and body, and found healing to guide her back on the path to lifelong, sustainable, joyful movement. She now finds great joy in distance running as well as resistance training, ice skating (attempting turns on the rink), playing with her dogs (Puffy and BearBear), and walk-and-talks with friends and family.
Professional Philosophy
Katie holds firmly and deeply that every person deserves to move, nourish, and honor their body in a way that aligns with their own personal values and beliefs. She knows that health is not (and has never been) one size, shape, or behavior. Instead, she seeks to support individuals as they define true health for themselves and lead their own journey through fulfilling movement and nourishment.
